Snorkels

Air intake snorkels reposition the air inlet for the engine from under the hood to the roofline of your rig.  This serves a couple of purposes.  They allow deeper water crossings than an original equipment intake would.  They also grab cleaner air for your vehicle than would be found under the hood.  This is especially important in dirty or dusty conditions.
